Hosp Corps Machete CW. Condition very nice. Original 1862 pattern with the early Collins Sword type stamping. Blade is in VERY good condition. No grinding or excessive sharpening. no pitting and clean for the age of this blade

Hosp Corps Machete CW. Condition very nice. Original 1862 pattern with the early Collins Sword type stamping. Blade is in VERY good condition. No grinding or excessive sharpening. no pitting and clean for the age of this blade. Stacked leather handle in excellent condition. Brass pommel and cross guard undamaged (some wear). Scabbard is complete with the frog and retainer.

Bottom drag and ball is missing but looks to have been gone for well over 100 years. A nice early Medical unit piece that unfortunately never had the chance to get into action. Manufactured in 1862 but never implemented or adopt. CAF initials seen on the scabbard with no history.
