M17 Wilmer shield helmet. Condition used. Excellent condition with 80 plus percent of the finish and paint. Complete helmet with the liner and chinstrap. They are detached but can be fixed or displayed as seen on a head

M17 Wilmer shield helmet. Condition used. Excellent condition with 80 plus percent of the finish and paint. Complete helmet with the liner and chinstrap. They are detached but can be fixed or displayed as seen on a head fantastically. These are a scarce helmet with the 3 holes on each side.

The three holes were to hold a chainmail type shield over the face to stop wood and other fragments during artillery bombardments. It never saw service or adopted but the helmets were put in service and are a scarcer item to find.
