Description

French VET flag WWI. Condition used excellent. From the Commune of Chaon south of Paris. These smaller than village communities are about only 300 or less people. Silk construction with the TRI colors. Appears gold but I think may have been blue with a bad dye that changed. Your judgement on that one. Hand embroidered with large Adrian helmet in blue in the center.

“aSs. Comb.” guessing means Combatant Association. Being the flag is with blue helmet WWI would be a perfect fit. Back has a GENERALE’s name and dated 1939. May have been visiting the group at one point. Also this is only a year before the German occupation.

Larger size of 29 x 20 inches without tassels. Tassels are complete without damage and gold heavy bullion. double sided material (2) with one side blank. Super hard to find early Vets assn pennant before occupation.
