Flag staff eagle CW

Description

Flag staff eagle CW. Condition used excellent. 8.25 inches tall. 5 inches wide. Brass construction. Research shown several I have found Identical in museum’s and other collections. Feet are part of the ball section. Legs are attached to hollow cast body. These are loose but VERY solid and attached.

Gold Gilding remains in nice spots throughout the eagle. Pole attachment is rough inside from Old milling technique. Very detailed feathering. Hole in beak of eagle would hold a loop for the regimental name or honors.

A very nice Civil war era Pole topper. Great display item. Usually used in the regimental formations in camps. Sometimes seen recovered from battlefields.
