This is a correct small issue bag that is waterproofed to keep items needed dry.  Food and other items spoiled at high humidity of the jungles in the Pacific. These were carried in the jungle packs in the Pacific Theater by both the Army and the USMC.

Excellent condition, little stiff but not flaking and still flexible. Feb 1943.
