Bayonet M1862 Dreyse EXC. Condition amazingly excellent. Stunning scarcer bayonet for the GERMAN/PRUSSIAN Dreyse rifle. Condition cannot be over stated with the original bluing to 90% of the spike. Locking ring is blued. Socket is a beautiful Plumb color as seen Due to heat treating down to bend.
Serial numbered on the ring and socket end (9285) Matching. Original tightening screw. NO chips or signs of pitting or rust. Clean and smooth metal. All apparent cyphers and crowns with maker mark present. Also appears to have 2 unit marks.
No scabbard came with this and may have saved it in the long run being out of one. The BEST I have seen in Decades for this scarce and desirable rifle.
